Five minute Bristol

It's common knowledge now that Bristol is just great.  But the best way to see Bristol is just to take a little walk around. So what's worth seeing thats within 5 minute walk from our venue Armada House? Here's a little taster of what's just round the corner to our venue.

We've made a map on Google Maps. Just click on the link below:

Near the fountains in the centre of Bristol you'll find Bordeuax Quay which runs parrallel to the floating harbour.  Here you'll find a range of cafe's bars and eateries of all different shapes and sizes. There is  the Watershed, Bristol's independent cinema, where you'll always find an unusual flick to emerse yourself into. There is the restaurant named'Bordeaux Quay' as well as bars such as Pitcher and Piano.

Round the corner from here as you turn off by Pitcher and PIano you'll find Millenium square, You can't miss it- its got a huge silver planetarium that is connected to @-Bristol the science centre. If you've got a day or afternoon to spare @-Bristol is perfect for big kids and little kids. They often do adult evening events too.

If you're walking along the harbourside you wont miss Pero's bridge .  The bridge links Millenium Square side of the harbour to Arnolfini and Queens Square Park side.

If you're a bit partial for some art and culture then head to the Arnolfini, the flagship of contemporary art in Bristol and the Southwest.  As well as two floors of galleries, there are evening events, a super duper book shop and a cafe bar.

If you like boats then Bristol's got lots of them.  Head to Prince Street bridge and cross over to walk along by the Mshed museum which is always worth a browse. Or just walk along the harbourside towards SS Britain and Spike Island. Walking past the Mshed there is the new Wapping Wharf Cargo area where you'll find lots of local Bristol talent in food, drink, gifts and more.

If you like boats loads then jump on a ferry.  Choose from Bristol Ferries, Bristol Packet or No7 boats who all do a different array of water trips.

If you're up for walking a little further- Park Street is excellent for shopping and food and at the top is the magnificent Wills Memorial building and the Bristol Museum.

Bristol's parks are just great and there are so many great spots.  Up Park Street there is Brandon Hill park that has awesome views of Bristol. Just round the corner from our venue you've got Castle Park and Queen Square both of historical interest.

Armada House is right in the heart of Bristol Old city where you'll also find St.Nicholas Markets . St Nicks is the perfect lunchtime spot with so many food vendors to choose from and indoor markets. Outdoor market are on browse on Tuesdays, Wednesday, Friday and at the weekends.  There's also the famous Rummer Hotel where you'll find the best cocktails, professionally made and delicious. It is also a beautiful historic area to walk around
